Koorie Youth Council

We’re inviting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people aged 14-28 years old living in Victoria to submit an artwork for the 2022 Koorie Youth Summit. Each year, we invite artists to submit artworks that captures the theme. The selected artwork will feature as the 2022 Koorie Youth Summit logo.

The 2022 Summit theme is For Us, By Us, With Us.

The Summit is a space for us to come together from around the state to connect, discuss what is important to us, be proud, learn, and share.

The theme for this year’s Koorie Youth Summit, ‘For Us, By Us, With Us’ is the understanding and practice of genuine and meaningful youth engagement, connection and youth participation.

Our Executive of deadly young people alongside the KYC team, chose the theme because we recognise that as young people, we need to genuinely be engaged in the decisions that affect us. We want to empower young people to trust the power that resides within all of us as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The artwork will be selected by our Executive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and Koorie Youth Summit organising group and will appear on promotional materials for both Koorie Youth Summit and Koorie Youth Council, (including web, print and media).

We may use the artwork in full or a segment of the image when appropriate and it may be used by a third party. The selected artist will be paid for their artwork and provided an artist agreement.

Submissions are now open until Tuesday 9 August, midnight.
