Thank you Ardu for sharing your beautiful message! Ardu Cubillo, proud Wadjigan and Larrakia woman, and shares her message on International Day of the World’s Indigenous People.

“Today I honour the collective survival of all Indigenous people worldwide and acknowledge our resilience, wisdom and strength, not just today, but every day. I pay homage to my ancestors whose legacy, pride and knowledge I embody and will continue to pass down to the next generation of leaders. In recognition of this year’s theme, COVID-19 and Indigenous people’s resilience, I take pride in the efforts of our mob who keep our communities safe and protect our Elders. During these challenging times I send my love and strength to those who are feeling the disconnection from family, country and culture and remind you that we are the strongest and most resilient people. ‘Remember that our mob are survivors, creators, fighters, carers. Your family and culture stretches back for over 2500 generations and your ancestors are with you always.’ Stay strong and take care of yourselves.”
